My last post about pictures made me want to go look through old photos which led to some scanning – there are some great memories in those albums!
brought back so many memories! Flower was a tiny child for years (not sure if it was a result of having been born early or not) but what she lacked in size she more than made up for in character. She’s 1 here and is pictured with her “twin brother” Jackpot.; they’re the same age and were inseparable during her toddler years. He loved her mostly because there was almost always some residual stickiness to be sampled and she loved him because he was an animated plaything that couldn’t get very far away from her torture play.
Never having had a pet in my life, I really didn’t want a dog but he won my heart with his gentleness, complete obedience and playful heart; I think those traits are a result of his having been literally, rescued from the streets. His good character was especially important because Flower didn’t know the meaning of the words “gentle, stop, no, don’t hurt, ouch or don’t hit”. That dog is a saint. I also have lots of pics of this same little urchin-child curled up to sleep in her fur-brother’s bed. I was always horrible grossed out by this and had to immediately bathe and/or wash every.single.thing but, a tiny little un-grossed out piece of my heart was happy to see the obvious love and connection between my youngest baby and this fur-creature.
See those hideous vertical blinds in the picture? They were in a perpetual state of disarray thanks to Ms. Terror here before I finally gave up and took them down. In the background is the hideous vintage paneling that was on every wall in the den and you can just make out the beginning of the fireplace hearth on the left. Under Jack’s bed is the equally hideous vintage tile that came with the house. I’m so glad those things are long GONE!
